I've also reproduced the colt monitor wood.  I wasn't able to work from an front original grip, but did have excellent pictures and measurements for my work.  Complete set is shown below on a Phili ordnance dummy receiver set with A2 parts (don't look to close at the metal) but at least its close enough for a picture.  I also made a new metal top cover for the front grip.
